Be sure to keep your wick trimmed to 1/4" before every burn and keep it lit for 3-4 hours.  This will help your candle burn longer with minimal soot.

Also, being homemade products, you may see some minor imperfections such as slightly off-center wick or minor discoloration of the wax. None of these will affect the quality of the candle.
